About us

The changing of the climate system is unequivocal, as we already experience it in forms of increases in global average air temperature, a widespread melting of snow and ice and so on. Anthropogenic greenhouse gases are the most important reason of the warming of the climate system. The adaptation to changing circumstances and mitigation of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emmissions are the biggest challenge which mankind has to tackle in the humanity histrory. We have a short time, only a decade to prevent the dangerous climate change.
 
Our aims
 
Climate protection via influencing the national and local decision-making
 
One of our most important goals is to achieve that climate protection is minded in decision-making and regulation processes. Thus a national strategy until 2050 on climate change is necessary which includes principles of adaptation, mitigation and sustainable development.
 
Awareness raising
 
We would like to familiarise a wide public with the reasons, effects and the importance of climat change as well as with the possibility of tackling it. In order to achieve this we spread our knowledge via publications, presentations and the development and dissemination of educational materials. The more people realise the importance of fighting against climate change, the more effecient it becomes to influence decision-making.
 
Following national and international climate change events, collecting informations
 
We continously monitor the regulations made in Hungary, the European Union and the United Nations. We follow international negotiations and scientific studies. These informations are disseminated to a wide public.
