The Energia Klub is a ’think and do’ organisation, meaning we don’t only think, we also act. We contemplate what would be the best solution to a certain problem, then we demonstrate how something would be worth doing in practice. These two activities demand two differing attitudes, hence, to improve our effectiveness we have organised our work into two divisions:
Policy: climate and energy division
One of the pre-conditions for creating sustainable energy systems and efficient, transparent policy, is that the leaders of Hungary and the European Union make decisions based on independent and well-grounded preparatory materials. Our division prepares background studies, analysis and policy materials which are scientifically precise, offer a wide perspective and are independent. These help decision-makers to accurately appraise the situation, to make the most of the opportunities and form policies moving towards sustainability.
Awareness-raising, training division
Creating energy systems based on numerous different resources (diversified) and many little, local energy-producing units (decentralised), demands that we change households’, communities’ and settlements’ energy consuming and producing behaviour, strengthen the role of local municipalities, as well as widen adults’ and the coming generations’ knowledge. This division deals with publishing and distributing up-to-date, well-presented materials, carefully designed for their target group, as well as with training courses for key players in the energy sector of the future. This draws on, among other sources, the work of the policy division.
