Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan for Kispest (Budapest, District XIX.)

Kispest has joined the Covenant of Mayors international organization and with the help and professional support of Energiaklub the Municipality submitted a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP), that includes a CO2-emission reduction target of 40% by 2030, and climate adaptation goals.

Kispest wishes to preserve and further develop its natural and constructed environment to have a livable city with high quality services. Operating it with the least harmful environmental effects and raising its resilience. In order to ensure this future development, energy consumption, emissions, potential local sources of energy, and the most significant local impacts and risks of climate change have been taken into account by the experts of Energiaklub. These factors had been integrated in planning and decision making processes in the future.

The project started in July 2018, and the final version of the SECAP had been submitted by the 15th December 2018.
